Waterboy Solar Pumps are of a very high quality and are backed by our family standards when it comes to moving water. The Waterboy Solar Pump is designed using minimal moving parts and by doing so, the wear is localised to a just a few components. This ensures that breakdowns are infrequent and easily repaired if required. Once your Waterboy Solar Pump is set up and pumping, you can run for many years with minimal maintenance.

Our Waterboy Solar Pumps are designed to need minimal maintenance however it pays to check on your pump periodically for wear and replace any parts you need to before you experience a problem. For our helical rotor pumps, we recommend you check and replace your rotor and stator as required.

They sure can. If you are installing a Waterboy system in a bore, part of the bore accessory kit will be a low water probe which will automatically turn off the pump if the water supply has dropped to a certain level. If the tank is less than 20m away from the water source we recommend that you install a tank full switch. If your tank is more than 20m away from your water source then the best option would be to install a pressure switch assembly and double acting float valve. Either option will ensure your  pump is only pumping the amount of water required to keep the tank full / fill up the tank as it drops to a certain level leaving your bore more time to replenish and only using as much water as needed.

We have a wide range of Waterboy Solar Pump systems which can be found here. The starting price for our Waterboy Solar Pump systems are $3,850 and they range up to $15,000 depending on your application.

The solar panel is designed for and works best when facing north and in full sun light. As you can imagine, when the clouds pass in front of the sun or anything casting shade onto the panel, the intensity of the light that gets to the solar panels drops off. In winter you will not get as much sun so you will not get as much water pumping however in summer you will have far more sunlight. Put simply, your Waterboy pumps whenever the sun shines.

All our Waterboy’s come with a 3 year warranty.

All our Waterboy solar pumps all come with a 2 year warranty, however many of our original Waterboys are still pumping! It is really hard to give a number on how long it will last before needing to be repaired / replaced as it all really depends on your water quality and how hard the pump will be working.

If you need to replace or repair your Waterboy Solar Pump in time you can be assured that the repair or replacement will always be available and a simple change over is done in an easy, timely and cost effective manner. We understand how important your water supply is so you can be assured that the down time will be minimal in the event you need your Waterboy repaired or replaced.

If you can imagine that your pipe size is like a straw. The bigger the straw the more liquid can flow through it. We recommend that you minimise friction loss as much as possible with the bigger pipe size, especially when the water will be travelling over a long distance. 2 inch is generally our favourite pipe size when water is travelling a bigger distance or you need maximum water output.
